Round aeration stone  8 cm in diameter A round aeration stone for all ponds. Connected to a pump or a buzzer it ensures optimum water oxygenation, essential for pond inhabitants. Proper aeration of the pond is particularly important in summer, as the solubility of oxygen decreases as the water temperature rises. However, it is also crucial in winter. The stone, connected to the pump, prevents the surface of the pond from freezing and allows the fish that overwinter at the bottom to survive. It also prevents the formation of anaerobic zones, which are a source of hydrogen sulphide, dangerous to aquatic organisms. Although the product is dedicated to ponds, it can also be used in large aquaria in situations of increased oxygen demand (e.g. when treating fish with certain medications such as malachite green or methylene blue).
